I’m Jeff, a principal architect in the data center division of a global automotive manufacturer.

I work primarily with data center technology but only have indirect exposure to AI.

The views and opinions I express are mine and only mine, and do not represent my company or colleagues.

I consult on practical AI for individuals and small businesses: consultation and implementation, grounded in homelab and local AI work, with LARS as the flagship. I also build sites and manage their hosting using the same methods I teach.

I’m a technology nerd, a gear-head, and generally obsessive.

When something piques my interest, I invest myself fully.

Example: I went ketogenic for weight loss and fitness — from 250 lbs at roughly 50% body fat to 175 lbs and under 20% body fat in two years.

That is the same pattern I bring to the homelab and local AI: dig in, run the experiments on real hardware, and write down what happens.

I’m a nerd and enjoy nerdy things, like this blog. Hopefully you do, too.

Origin

ANotSoI LLC is a Michigan limited liability company, named for the thesis that AI is "not so intelligent."

LARS (Local Augmented Retrieval System) is the workflow engine behind ANotSoI.

The name lightly nods to the owner’s first online technical handle from about thirty years ago.
